The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and Havaldar Examination every year to recruit candidates for various Group-C non-gazetted posts in Central Government Ministries, Departments and Offices. Candidates preparing for the upcoming SSC MTS Recruitment 2026 should thoroughly understand the latest exam pattern and syllabus to maximize their scores.
As per the latest SSC MTS notification pattern, the examination consists of a Computer Based Examination (CBE). For Havaldar posts, candidates must additionally qualify the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). The SSC MTS 2026 Computer Based Examination contains 90 objective-type questions. Session I contains 40 questions while Session II contains 50 questions, carrying a total of 270 marks.
Yes. There is no negative marking in Session I. However, 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer in Session II.
Male candidates must complete a 1600-meter walk in 15 minutes, while female candidates must complete a 1-kilometer walk in 20 minutes. Physical standards including height, chest and weight criteria are also applicable.
