The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced a total of 1358 vacancies through the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2026 for various Medical Officer posts.
Candidates must have passed the MBBS examination or should be appearing in the final year of the MBBS examination. However, candidates must complete the internship before final appointment.
The maximum age limit for UPSC CMS 2026 is 32 years. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories as per government rules.
The selection process includes two stages: a Computer Based Written Examination followed by a Personality Test / Interview.
Candidates belonging to the General / OBC / EWS category need to pay an application fee of ₹200, while SC / ST / Female / PwBD candidates are exempted from paying the fee.
Selected candidates will receive salary under Level 10 of the Pay Matrix (₹56,100 + allowances) along with DA, HRA, medical benefits and other government allowances.
