No. There is no written exam. Candidates are shortlisted based on academic performance and are directly called for the SSB Interview.
The Short Service Commission is granted for an initial period of 10 years, extendable up to 14 years subject to Army rules.
Selected candidates will undergo training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai.
